A very complicated piece; the lid is made in four quarters and the joined together. It is a double curvature and is very dificult to get the thin veneers to bend in both ways.

Chris has experimented here with laminated back slats and twisted side rails. The rail needs to change plane as it goes toward the rear legs which orientate inwards.
